Dealer contract or my own savings, which is smarter for an Infiniti?

My Infiniti Q70 is five years old and has about seventy five thousand kilometres, and the warranty ended last month. The dealer sent me a service contract offer the very next week, and I have been thinking about it ever since. My brother says a contract is a good way to avoid big bills. My friend says it is just a way to sell more, and that I should save a little each month and pay when something breaks. I work near Musaffah and drive about forty minutes each way in heavy traffic, so the car gets a lot of use. I looked online for the Best Infiniti service contract in Musaffah, but every page said the same thing, so I still cannot tell what is really covered. Does a contract cover only the regular services like oil and filters, or does it also cover big repairs? Are brake pads, tyres and the battery left out because they are wear items? Can I use a small garage, or must I go to the dealer every time? If I sell the car, does the contract go to the new owner, and does that raise the price? Also, how do I tell if the price is fair, and can I cancel it later? If you bought a contract, please tell me what you paid, what it covered, and if you would buy it again. If you skipped it, please tell me how that worked out. Easy answers help me most.
