  Jaguar gearbox warning light came on, what did yours turn out to be?

  So I’m in a bit of a panic mode right now. My 2016 Jaguar XF flashed a gearbox fault warning yesterday while I was driving home from work. The car went into what I assume was limp mode because it wouldn’t shift past third gear and the revs just hung there. I pulled over, turned it off, waited a minute, started it again and the warning was gone and it drove fine. But now I’m scared to take it on the highway in case it happens again. That didn’t exactly calm me down. Has anyone here had that warning pop up? What did it end up being? Was it a cheap fix or did you have to go deep into the transmission? Also how did you decide who to trust with the diagnosis because I don’t want to hand it to someone who just clears the code and sends me on my way. Any real stories would help me figure out my next step because right now I’m just staring at the car in the parking lot wondering what to do.
