Let me tell you how I ended up here. Last month my brother in law talked me into helping him pull his small boat to the marina with my 2018 Cayenne, which is rated for towing, so I said yes without thinking much. The drive was only forty minutes, but there was a long slow stretch with a lot of braking, and the car felt heavy and a little scary on the way back down the ramp road. Since that day something is different. The pedal feels slightly spongy in the first half, and when I brake from highway speed I get a faint shake through the steering wheel. There is also a dry grinding sound at low speed, mostly in the evening when I park. The car has about 83,000 kilometers, and the front wheels look very dirty with dark dust, much worse than before. My neighbor, who works in sales and knows nothing about cars, says it is just the heat. A friend who tracks his car on weekends says towing can overheat the discs and warp them, and now I keep thinking I damaged something expensive. I read a page from a workshop in Dubai about Porsche brake service, and it explained how pads, discs and sensors wear together, and how too much heat can leave marks on the discs even when the pads still have some life left. That was new for me. Since I live close to Umm Suqeim, I typed Best Porsche Cayenne brake service near Umm Suqeim into my phone, but I honestly do not know what to ask when I call anyone. Do they measure the disc thickness and run out before saying what to change? Is a shaking pedal always a bent disc, or can old brake fluid cause a soft feel too? I have never changed the fluid on this car, which now worries me after towing. Also, if I tow again someday, should I do anything first, like fresh fluid or better pads? Please share your stories, what you paid, and how long the car stayed in the shop. Thanks everyone.
